Honestly, I've totally done this during big football matches. There's just something about seeing scores update in real time that makes you feel like you're a part of the action, even if you're not watching live. For me, it's usually because I can't actually stream the game, so checking livescores is my lifeline. My friends do it too, especially when they've got bets going or there's a fantasy league involved.
It's almost like a competition with yourself, refreshing nonstop, hoping your team scores or the odds shift in your favor. I think the FOMO (fear of missing out) is real—nobody wants to be the last in their group chat to know what's happening. Plus, with apps sending instant notifications, it's hard not to peek constantly. Livescores become a habit, and it's kinda thrilling seeing those numbers change right away. It might seem silly, but it totally makes games feel more intense and interactive. I guess we're just wired to chase that little jolt of adrenaline that live updates bring!
