I think people are finally realizing how much Patti LaBelle did for music and for Black women in entertainment. Like, she was out here being a bold, crazy talented woman doing things her way, before it was cool or even accepted. Now, with all these conversations about representation and owning your story, a lot of fans feel like Patti’s whole brand just makes sense for this generation too. In my opinion, social media lets young people see what she did and how her confidence and voice inspired everyone from Beyoncé to Lizzo. I remember my cousin telling me she saw tons of younger fans at Patti’s show, all singing her songs from way before they were even born. That kind of impact is wild. So yeah, even if she’s not dropping new hits every year, her influence keeps growing because people keep finding new reasons to respect what she did and how she did it.
