To be real, I haven’t seen the government or police in Zapopan doing a ton right after Valeria Marquez got killed. From what I read, they said they’re looking into it and there’s an investigation, but I feel like people are getting tired of hearing that same line every time something happens. The guy who did it apparently posed as a delivery person and just walked right in, which is honestly scary because it shows how easy it is to get away with stuff like this.
I remember when something similar happened in my grandma’s neighborhood and the cops barely showed up or said anything. That’s why a lot of people in Zapopan and all over Mexico don’t really trust that the government is gonna help. It feels like you only hear about actual progress if the case goes viral or if the person was well known, like Valeria was. That pressure from social media is probably the only reason we’re seeing any response at all.
So yeah, technically they’re investigating, but unless there’s real action and people end up in jail, nobody really believes justice will be served. I just hope her family sees some real answers soon. It sucks that so many people feel this way, but it’s hard not to when this keeps happening.
