I've noticed president alassane ouattara has had a lot on his plate running Ivory Coast, especially when you look at recent years. One of the biggest challenges has definitely been dealing with political tension, like after the 2020 election. There were a lot of arguments about whether he should even have run for a third term, and that led to protests and some violence. I've seen news clips of people clashing in the streets and it looked pretty intense, honestly.
On top of all that, there's been the challenge of keeping the economy stable, especially since the country depends a lot on cocoa exports and prices can be up and down. Also, I read that he’s had to be really careful about keeping the peace between different groups in the country, since Ivory Coast has had some super tense moments in the past.
From what I gather, president ouattara also has to balance working with other leaders in the region—like with the ECOWAS group—because West Africa's had a few coups lately and people worry about stuff spreading. So yeah, it’s not an easy gig, and he’s dealing with a ton of different problems all at once.
