So the craziest thing just happened, and yeah, I've been following the news because stuff like this makes you question how things actually work behind closed doors. Apparently, 17 family members of big cartel folks, including Ovidio Guzmán López who’s el chapo guzman’s son, crossed into the US last week. Mexico’s security chief literally said it was part of an official deal between Guzmán López and the US government! That totally blows my mind because you wouldn't think the government would cut deals like that.

From what I’ve read, Ovidio got extradited last year and actually agreed to help US authorities. So as kind of an exchange, the Department of Justice let his family into the States. I guess it’s not just about justice, it’s about getting info on bigger threats. Pretty wild how people always say "nobody is above the law" but when it comes to getting valuable info, even families of cartel leaders can get special treatment. Makes you really wonder what else happens that we never hear about, right?
