Yeah, it’s kind of weird but also not surprising that Trump and Harris both jumped in to talk publicly about Joe Biden getting cancer. Politics is dramatic, and when something huge happens to a major figure like Biden, everyone has to react—otherwise, people accuse them of being heartless or out of the loop. I remember when stuff happened to other politicians, everyone rushed to say something, even if they didn't really get along.
For Trump, he probably wanted to show he’s a bigger person, even though they’re rivals. Making a public statement can also distract from his own controversies, honestly. And Harris? She worked right with Biden as VP, so she kind of has to say something supportive, or people might think she’s cold. I think it’s also about being seen as respectful and “presidential,” which is what people expect from top politicians, especially during emotional stuff like this.
Sometimes, though, all the public comments feel a bit fake to me, like everyone’s performing for the cameras. But I get it—it’s all part of the political game. Still, it’s good for people to show support, and it gets people talking about cancer awareness too.
