It looks like the Akwa Ibom commissioner quit because he didn't feel cool about switching parties with the governor. Governor Eno left PDP and joined APC, and he told his people if they're not down with that, they should leave. So the commissioner, Ini Ememobong, just straight up resigned. Honestly, I kind of get it. Some people just can't flip their loyalties for power or a paycheck.

He said it was about his principles. I've seen stuff like that happen in school elections, too, where friends stop supporting each other if things change. It takes guts to walk away, especially when everyone around you might be pressuring you to just go along with the crowd. The commissioner thanked the governor and said he still has respect, but he's just not down for APC. I respect that. I guess not everyone wants to just follow the leader if it doesn't feel right. Sometimes you gotta stand up for what you believe in, even if it means saying goodbye.
