Yeah, so this is something that really gets to me whenever I check benue news today. It feels like every other story is just about one violent attack after another, and nothing good coming out of it. From what I’ve seen, a big part of the problem is the government seems either too slow or just doesn’t care enough to actually stop the violence. The police confirm the attacks, but they rarely give real numbers or make arrests.
Honestly, I don’t think the government is taking enough action because these attacks keep happening. Amnesty International even called them out for failing to step in and protect people. It's always about land and water fights between farmers and herders, and nobody seems to address the real causes.
And then when you see celebrities or important people like Wole Soyinka speaking up, it’s kind of wild – but even then, not much happens. I remember reading something last month, and now this month, it's almost the same headline. It totally makes you wonder if anyone in power actually cares about what happens in Benue. It’s just tiring and makes people feel helpless. I just wish for once, benue news today would share some hope or that real action was being taken.
