Oh man, people talk about this overcrowding issue all the time. Even though Ahmadu Bello University is super famous and giant—like, 7,000 hectares and all that—the truth is, it just has too many students for the facilities. My friend who studies law there always complains about lectures happening in jam-packed rooms where you can barely breathe or ask questions. The big reason is loads of people apply to ABU for law because of its reputation and cheaper fees compared to private schools. The university tries to admit students from all over Nigeria, not just the north, so they end up with way more law students than they can handle sometimes. Plus, while they have good professors and programs, the money for buildings and better hostels just isn’t enough to keep up with how many people want in. It’s kind of like being famous but not having enough seats at your party, and it makes learning really tough for everyone.
