Okay, honestly, the Saturday Night Live Colin Jost and Michael Che joke swap is straight-up legendary if you like awkward, edgy comedy. These two dudes roast each other by making the other read jokes on live TV they haven't seen before. Sometimes the jokes are so wild you can't believe they get away with it on NBC.
I remember watching one where Colin had to apologize to Michael's entire family for a joke he didn't even write! And just recently, on the Season 50 finale, Jost finally turned the tables and got Che super good by making him read an apology to Scarlett Johansson—Jost's actual wife, who was hosting that night. Che was so uncomfortable, and Scarlett sat there stone-faced, it was priceless. You could see the pain in Che's face, and everyone was dying laughing. Che has always dominated those segments, so it was wild to see Jost actually win for once.
People love these segments because you never know what they'll say, and it's way more unpredictable than most "safe" SNL sketches. So yeah, it's a big deal for SNL fans because it's real, unscripted chaos you don't see on live TV much anymore. If you wanna see comedians absolutely destroy each other's confidence on national TV, this is like the Super Bowl.
