Honestly, I keep seeing people call Mamadou Sarr the most generic Chelsea signing ever, and I totally get why. Chelsea's been signing loads of young, tall, barely-known defenders lately, hoping they'll become the next big thing. Sarr totally fits that vibe – he's a teenage center back from France, he's tall (like 194cm!), and he hadn't played much first-team football before signing. It's almost like Chelsea just has a template: find a tall defender from Europe, preferably France, and give him a super long contract. It kinda feels lazy and like they're gambling on potential instead of proven stars.

But, not gonna lie, the kid does look promising and maybe this will pay off for Chelsea in a few years. Still, I think lots of fans are just tired of the club stockpiling young dudes and hoping one sticks. I remember when people were super hyped for Sarr, but at this point, it just feels like we've seen this story before. I really hope Mamadou Sarr breaks the mold though, just to shut everyone up! Only time will tell, I guess.
