Yeah, I hear that all the time. People always say the old 007 games are only fun because of nostalgia and we only think they're good because we played them as kids. Like, GoldenEye was a huge deal for my older siblings and everyone talks about it like it's top 5 ever, but when my friends tried it, it kinda felt clunky and old compared to today's games.
I think there's some truth to that. Gaming has changed a lot, and stuff that was sick 20 years ago doesn't always hold up, especially with controls and graphics. But honestly, I also think people just like to hate on stuff that's super hyped from the past. Just because a game is "classic" doesn't mean every new Bond game should copy it, or that the old ones were perfect.
In my opinion, the new 007 games need to get people hyped for new reasons. If all they do is remind you of the old days, that's kinda lame. But if they keep bringing cool stories or awesome gameplay, I'll be excited even if I wasn't there for the original hype. So yeah, nostalgia is real, but I think new Bond games can still prove themselves if they're actually good.
