Oh, there's always a huge buzz when the Nigeria immigration service recruitment starts. I've noticed everyone talks about it in my area. First, jobs in places like the NIS are seen as super stable and come with a lot of perks, so people really want them. Plus, there's this idea that working for the government gives you social respect and better chances at other opportunities in the future.
But to be real with you, a lot of people worry about how fair the process really is. I've heard my older cousins say it feels like sometimes who you know matters more than what you know, especially because there's so much pressure and competition. Even though the agencies promise the recruitment is free and warn about scammers, many still get scammed or believe that connections help. I tried looking up if anyone I know actually got in just off their application, and most of the stories are about disappointment or not hearing back at all.
So yeah, it's popular because everyone needs a job and government ones seem the best in Nigeria, but there's always debate about whether the whole thing is fair or not. I really hope they keep doing it online so at least it's harder for people to cheat the system. Hang in there if you're applying—it's not easy, but someone has to get in, right?
