If I'm being honest, it feels like ECMR registration started off as a good idea, like making sure vehicles are properly registered and tracked. But in reality, most people I know see it as just another way for police to hassle regular folks. I mean, I remember reading about how so many were getting stopped and forced to pay, even though the whole thing was supposed to be about safety and law and order.

Last time I was on a road trip with my uncle, he actually made sure all his car papers were perfect, but that didn’t stop a police officer from asking about ECMR, claiming it was 'still important.' It felt so pointless. It's hard to trust it’s really about safety when there's so many stories of officers using ECMR as an excuse for quick cash. Especially after enforcement got suspended, but the harassment still goes on.

Honestly, lots of people want real solutions, not just more paperwork or another chance for police to take your money. Maybe if ECMR actually worked for public safety and not for bribes, people would care about it, but right now it just sounds like a hassle.
