From what I've seen and heard, almost all government offices totally close down on the June 12 holiday here in the Philippines. It’s a regular holiday, so it’s seriously treated like a day off for everyone working in government. My mom works in a city hall, and every Independence Day, she gets the day off and usually just relaxes or goes to a parade with me. There are some emergency services, like hospitals and maybe the police, that still work because, well, emergencies don’t care about holidays! But if you’re planning on going to get paperwork done or go to the barangay office, pretty much forget about it on June 12.

I’ve had friends who learned the hard way by showing up at government offices, only to find them locked up and some random banner about Independence Day hanging on the gate. So yeah, unless it’s super serious or life-threatening, government offices are a no-go on June 12, so just plan your errands for another day!
