That’s a cool question because, honestly, soccer and politics in Argentina are weirdly connected. I've seen how the media always mixes stories about the national team with whatever drama is happening in the government. Like right now, everyone’s buzzing about Messi playing and the whole situation with Cristina Kirchner getting found guilty of corruption. It’s like you can’t escape the chaos.
From what I can tell, Messi and the team are pretty good at tuning everything out, but maybe the constant distractions get to them sometimes. I know if I was playing for Argentina, it’d be hard not to think about all the negativity or the crazy stuff going on at home, especially with something as huge as the World Cup coming up. At the same time, Messi’s been dealing with stuff like this basically his whole career, so he’s probably used to blocking out the noise.
Still, I think it’d be nice if the team wasn’t always dragged into political drama. But who knows, maybe this makes them want to win even more for the country. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how they do in 2026.
