Honestly, this is the question everyone seems to be whispering about. When someone like Nyesom Wike, who's always in the middle of political drama, suddenly starts sealing properties—including his old party's HQ—it's hard not to think there's more to it. Like, yeah, rules are rules and people should pay what they owe, but the way it's happening feels kinda targeted.
I remember when politicians would talk about fighting corruption or making things fair, and it always sounded good, but then it turned out they were mostly going after rivals. Even though Wike and his people say they're just following the law and even sealed banks, hotels, and FIRS offices, I get why some think it looks suspicious. Plus, the FCTA acted all tough and said even if someone claims they paid, if the paperwork isn't perfect, they still get shut down. That's strict as heck! If this was only about getting money for Abuja, maybe there would've been more warnings or smaller fines, not full closures. So yeah, I wouldn't be shocked if there's some power play happening behind the scenes. Politics is messy!
