Honestly, I kinda think the way Godwin Emefiele lost his housing estate could be really unfair if you look at it from a normal person's point of view. Like, the whole thing about the notice for the forfeiture happening in some random part of the newspaper just feels wrong to me. If someone’s about to lose their house, shouldn’t they get a clear, direct warning? In Emefiele’s case, he said he didn’t know about the court process because he was busy with other legal stuff and the notice was hard to find. That sounds pretty legit, right?

I remember when my family almost lost our car because the bank mailed one tiny letter we totally missed. Lucky for us, we caught it. But imagine if it was a huge estate, and you weren’t even home to see the notice! It just seems like the government should be required to make sure everyone really knows what’s happening before they take property, even if that person is super rich or famous. Maybe if this can happen to an ex-central bank governor, it can happen to anyone, which is kinda scary. Definitely makes me want to check my mail more often!
