This year, I've seen Cruz Azul totally change the story between them and América. For so long, people used to say América owned Cruz Azul, especially after that iconic final where América came back and won in stoppage time. But in 2025, Cruz Azul has beat América twice and even kept them from scoring wins all year, which is rare. Usually, América is the one dominating these matchups, but right now, Cruz Azul seems to have their number. Maybe it's the new coach or just better team chemistry, but they're not giving up leads like before. That 1-0 win in the first leg of the semifinal was huge and honestly, makes me think América's era is slipping a bit. I've heard some América fans are kinda panicking because they wanted the tetracampeonato (four titles in a row), but Cruz Azul is like, "Not on our watch!" Of course, things change super quick in soccer, but for now, Cruz Azul has definitely broken América's streak this season.
