I've argued with some friends about this, and honestly, it’s complicated. A lot of people used to act like Henry Kissinger was the foreign policy genius and Brzezinski was just second best. But now, with all these books and biographies coming out, I keep seeing stuff about how Zbigniew Brzezinski was actually way ahead of his time. He saw the Soviet Union was gonna collapse before a lot of other leaders did, and he wasn't afraid to push dangerous, risky ideas, like supporting rebels in Afghanistan. Some say he thought more long-term than Kissinger, who just wanted to keep things stable in the short run. But others blame Brzezinski for creating trouble that led to more conflict later, so it’s a toss-up whether his boldness helped or just started new problems. I still feel like Brzezinski was more willing to call out dictators, while Kissinger had no problem making deals with them. It’s weird, but the more I read about them, the more I think Brzezinski deserved way more credit than he got.
