This is one of those messy questions even people at school are arguing about. Some APC people are excited since having the governor and his team join might give their party more power and projects. Imagine your favorite football team suddenly signing the rival's best player—on paper, it's supposed to be cool.
But I've also heard a lot of grumbling from people who’ve been loyal APC since the beginning. They feel weird that the same folks who were fighting against them yesterday are now standing with them. My friend’s dad has always been a hardcore APC guy, but he keeps saying "these defectors are just looking for where the grass is greener, not because they really believe in us." I kinda get that. The mood is very mixed.
So yeah, some are pumped for the new political power, but others are upset because it feels fake or like their party is losing its true identity. The real test will be if things actually improve in Akwa Ibom or if it’s just old faces wearing new uniforms. I’m keeping my expectations low, to be honest.
