How come the 007 First Light game is going for a totally original Bond story and isn’t using a real actor or linking it to a movie like older Bond games did?

So, 007 First Light game is doing something kinda bold by not being tied to any movie or real-life Bond actor. I think that’s actually really cool. Most Bond games just use whatever actor’s popular at the time or stick super close to the movies, but honestly, that can get old fast, especially if the movies kind of all feel the same after a while.

IO Interactive said they want to build a new James Bond universe, not just repeat the same stories. They’re making Bond younger, before he’s famous, so they don’t have to follow any movie plot or actor. It’s their own story, with new characters and villains, which gives them way more creative freedom. They can make Bond do things the movies never would, and try out new ideas without fans saying "Hey, that’s not what Daniel Craig did!"

I’m honestly hoping this means we get a bunch of surprises and a fresh take instead of just another movie knock-off. It might annoy purists, but I’m super into the idea of a Bond game you can’t just predict from the movies.
