Honestly, with Aliyu Audu stepping down like this, it throws a lot of questions into Nigeria's politics right now. I've noticed that when a high-up government official like Audu quits over issues with the ruling party, it sort of wakes people up. It gets people talking about how fair and open the political system is, and whether too much power is stuck with just one party like APC.
I think Audu's move could make other politicians who feel the same way start to speak up or even think about quitting too. It's like when one person in your group has the guts to stand up to something you all know is wrong, suddenly it doesn't seem so impossible for the rest of you to do it. Plus, now the government has to figure out what to do without someone who was really good at handling public communication.
It might not change everything overnight, but it definitely sends a message. I wouldn't be shocked if we see more debates about party-switching, democracy, and what it means to actually serve the country. Stuff like this is what keeps politics interesting.
