Yeah, Preakness 2025 is definitely gonna feel different, just knowing it’s like the last big hurrah before Pimlico gets torn down and rebuilt. I remember walking through the old grandstands and thinking, this place has seen it all, and now everyone’s probably gonna show up wanting to soak in every last moment the way it is. People who’ve always gone with their family or friends are kind of treating it like a farewell party, so I think the crowd’s gonna be way more emotional and hyped than usual.
For the racers, too, it might hit hard because some of the trainers and jockeys are super attached to that track. The changes aren’t happening until after this race, so it’s still got that old vibe for one more year. But after 2025, everything will probably be more modern and comfortable but less "classic." If you ask me, it’s gonna be one of those events where everyone’s telling their kids they were there for the final old-school Preakness at Pimlico. So yeah, expect things to feel way more epic than normal, both good and bittersweet.
