I think it’s so cool how Coco Gauff and Alex Eala teamed up for Italian Open doubles! It literally started because Eala messaged Gauff on social media and just asked if she wanted to play together. Pretty chill and almost like something regular people would do, not superstars. Even though they’d never played as a team before, their partnership clicked right away in Rome. Both Gauff and Eala are known for being super athletic and positive on court, so they bring a good energy, and that’s huge for doubles chemistry.

They’ve already knocked out two teams, including a strong Italian pair, winning 6-2, 6-3, so clearly they have something that works. I think it helps that Gauff still has a ton of confidence from her singles wins, and Eala is really motivated to prove herself at a big tournament. Sometimes it’s just random connections and good vibes that turn into good results. I can’t wait to see how far they go because it feels like the start of something awesome!
