That goal by Marc Cucurella was just super clever if you ask me. He’s not really a guy known for scoring a ton, so when he popped up in the box and nodded in Reece James’s cross, it caught everyone off guard. Honestly, the cross from James was perfect. He just got past Garnacho with a slick move and whipped it right onto Cucurella’s head. I rewinded that on YouTube like five times!
But about whether United could have stopped it—I think they got caught ball-watching. Their defenders had lost a bit of concentration after Chelsea had that penalty overturned by VAR. Maybe they thought the danger was gone or whatever, but that’s when good teams punish you. It was a small gap in the defense and Cucurella just took advantage, so yeah, United probably should’ve done better. But full credit to Chelsea for not giving up and finding that break. It kinda sums up their game—they just kept pushing till something finally clicked. Goals like that can really change where you end up in the table, especially this late in the season!
