Honestly, FAMU’s academic calendar is way more detailed and honestly kinda early compared to some other schools. Like, they start early fall registration in April which is a whole semester ahead. If you’re trying to line up a summer job or internship, you kinda have to plan sooner than you would at a lot of other places.
One thing I noticed is FAMU is big on people getting their applications in super early. For example, non-degree students and employees have to have their stuff done months ahead of time. I remember my friend missed the deadline and had to wait an extra semester before they could take classes, which totally wrecked his plans.
The downside is, if you’re not on top of those dates, you can get hit with fees or lose your housing spot because residence halls open on a specific day. So yeah, if you wanna work a job over the summer or take a break, you really need to follow FAMU’s schedule or you could end up missing out. It’s strict but if you like being organized, it works. If you don’t, it’s stressful! Just keep an eye on their calendar, trust me.
