I think Ahmed al-Sharaa getting into these big meetings could totally change Syria's future, at least a bit. I've noticed that whenever someone from outside the regular group gets in the mix, there's a chance for new ideas or compromise. In my experience, sometimes the folks who understand the conflict first-hand, like al-Sharaa, can push for stuff that the regular government reps won’t even consider.
With Trump stepping in, you never really know what's going to happen. He could be looking for some kind of headline deal, and having someone like al-Sharaa there means the talks might be more real, not just a show for cameras. Some people online are annoyed, saying that al-Sharaa’s past makes him untrustworthy, but honestly, I'd rather have someone with real street experience than another boring politician who just says what people want to hear.
If this actually leads to fewer people fighting or more aid getting through, I'm all for it. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see if anything actually changes. It just feels different this time, you know?
