Honestly, I think Simon Ekpa's trial is going to shake things up for Biafra activitsts and maybe even other separatist groups in Nigeria. His supporters see him as a hero, someone who's brave enough to keep fighting for Biafran independence no matter where he lives. When Finland started his trial, the Biafra Republic Government in Exile even called for a complete lockdown in Nigeria's southeast as a protest, so it's obviously making a big splash. But at the same time, politicians and a bunch of regular people in Nigeria feel like his actions are leading to more tension and violence, which nobody really wants.
From my point of view, if Ekpa actually gets convicted and sent to prison, it could make his movement lose some steam. But it might also fire up his supporters and make him look like a martyr, which could cause more protests or unrest. I bet other separatist leaders, not just from Biafra, are watching this to see what happens if you run your movement from abroad. It's kind of wild to think that a courtroom in Finland could end up changing the course of politics in Nigeria. It's definitely not boring!
