If you ask me, Fubara visits Tinubu could end up being way bigger than just them making up. Like, think about it – if Fubara ends up getting Tinubu’s support and ditches his old crew like Wike and maybe even the PDP, you could see a bunch of other politicians in Southern Nigeria switching sides just to stay in power.
My cousin in Bayelsa was talking about how alliance shifts like this have happened before, and they change which party controls the region or who gets called for big decisions. If Fubara teams up with the president and brings a bunch of loyalists, it might push the South more towards Tinubu’s party (APC) and leave the main opposition (PDP) scrambling. That’d be wild for elections and future deals. Stuff like this always starts with a closed-door meeting, and then suddenly everyone’s talking about a whole new squad running things. I guess we’ll have to see, but I wouldn’t be surprised if other states in the South start picking sides soon.
