Yeah, getting labeled UBA is a pretty big deal if you ever want to become legal here. I’ve read about a few stories where people who crossed the border without permission found it way harder to get any kind of visa or green card later on. Basically, once the government tags you as UBA, it can mean you’re barred from applying for a bunch of years, or sometimes forever if you don’t fix things in a special way. Some lawyers say there are rare exceptions, like if you have a really strong asylum claim or other crazy circumstances, but for most people it just messes up any shot at legal status down the road. I always tell my friends: don’t risk it, because fixing a UBA record is way harder than it sounds.
