Honestly, yeah, it's possible. From what I've heard, the criminal charges against Natasha Akpoti are based on sections of Nigerian law that say you can go to jail for saying stuff meant to destroy someone's reputation, especially if you know it's not true. The Penal Code sections they're using can actually lead to time behind bars if you're found guilty.
That said, I've noticed that in a lot of these high-profile political cases, people don't always end up serving time, especially if there's a lot of press and public interest. Sometimes the person gets a fine, or the whole thing gets settled quietly because of political pressure or negotiations. But yeah, if the government pushes hard and she loses in court, Natasha could face prison time. It kinda freaks me out honestly, because it makes you wonder just how careful politicians and public figures have to be with what they say, or if it's just a way to scare rivals. If she does get jail time, I think it would send a huge message to every politician out there about what lines they can and can't cross.
