Yeah, so from what I've read, it's actually possible for the Patriots to cut Stefon Diggs and not have to pay him a bunch of money, which is kinda wild, right? The whole thing depends on him passing this super strict physical, and the team doctor gets to decide if he's good to go. If he's still hurt from his ACL thing, they can just say he failed and pretty much walk away from the contract, which was supposed to be worth, like, $69 million for three years.

I remember hearing something kinda similar when Antonio Brown was with the Patriots, and they found a way to split after just a game without having to pay him the whole deal. It sounds pretty harsh for a player, honestly, but I guess it protects the team if the dude's knee is really messed up. I've always thought that once you signed somewhere, you were safe, but now I'm not so sure. NFL contracts are way more complicated than they look. Kinda makes you wonder who has the power sometimes.
