Honestly, the whole thing with Ivan Perisic going to Barcelona has me split. On one hand, Perisic has tons of experience and he's shown he can step up in big games, like when he played with Bayern Munich. But let's be real, he's not a kid anymore. Sometimes these big clubs sign older players thinking their experience will magic everything better, but it doesn't always work out. I've seen other clubs do this and the players mostly end up on the bench or don’t have the same pace as before.
Still, Hansi Flick wanting him means Perisic might actually get used more, especially since Flick coached him at Bayern. I kind of think if Perisic stays injury-free and gets enough playing time, he could be a solid contributor, maybe like how Pedro played a key role for Barça back in the day without always being the star. But if he’s just there for the name or as a backup, I doubt he's going to fix any of Barcelona’s real problems. It’s always cool when a player finishes their career in a top league, though.
Guess we’ll just have to see! Sometimes these unexpected transfers do work out, but I’m not totally convinced yet.
