From what I’ve seen, people always talk about ABU’s law faculty like it’s special, and I get why. First off, their Kongo Campus is one of the oldest spots for teaching public administration and legal studies in the whole country, so it’s got serious history. But what makes it stand out for me is how many of Nigeria’s lawyers and judges actually got their start there. My uncle’s friend is a senior lawyer in Lagos, and he always jokes that if you haven’t studied law at ABU, you haven’t started. Plus, the school brings in students from literally every state, so it’s not all just northern stuff. They focus on both Nigerian and international law, and you’ll see ABU alumni everywhere—like in government, politics, and the courts. People have their opinions, but honestly, the connections and name recognition from ABU are real, even though I hear the facilities lag behind. So yeah, there’s hype, but it’s not just hype—it actually gets results.
