Honestly, it's kinda a big deal, especially if you're interested in how the market works. The latest news is that DAPPMAN (Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria) is like super worried about Dangote's refinery stirring up the whole petroleum scene.
They think it might turn into a monopoly, which can be bad news for everybody 'cause it could bump up prices and make it tough for other suppliers to stay afloat. They even went as far as to say that relying only on Dangote could create chaos if imports stop. That's crazy!
From what I've seen, monopolies give too much power to one guy, and if Dangote is calling the shots, who knows if prices and distribution will be fair. To me, it seems like people are just trying to keep things from spiraling out of control while the authorities work on getting other refineries back in business so there's more competition and less—or maybe no—chaos. 🤷♀️
Overall, I just think everyone, from the big bosses to us consumers, should keep an eye on what happens next.
