I've heard private university students don't get NELFUND loans or the April upkeep disbursement. Is that fair, and are they ever going to change it?

This is something a lot of people talk about, and honestly, I think it’s kind of wild how many folks assume private university students are just rich and don’t need help. The truth? Loads of students at private schools are regular people whose families make big sacrifices for their education. Right now, NELFUND loans, including those April upkeep disbursements, mostly go to public school kids. But just recently, Prof. Timothy Adebayo from Ajayi Crowther University actually applauded the plan to finally include private institution students in the future. NELFUND’s boss said they might expand it in the next three years. That feels like forever if you’re stuck waiting, but it’s better than nothing. I have a friend at a private university who works two jobs just to cover food and rent. It doesn’t seem fair to leave them out! I’m hoping this change actually happens so every student gets a shot at help when they need it. If you’re in a private school, don’t give up. Keep an eye on the news and always check if anything changes!
