Mallorca is famous for being packed with tourists and it's supposed to make the place richer. So why are some locals actually protesting against all the visitors? Doesn't tourism make things better for everyone there?

I totally get why people think tourism only helps places like Mallorca, but there's way more to it. From what I've heard and seen, yeah, tourists do bring in big money and create jobs, but when there's way too many, it seriously messes up daily life for locals.

Like, in Sóller, some people got so fed up with the crowds and crazy prices that they started protesting with T-shirts saying there's nothing but tourists. It's not just about hating visitors or anything. The locals are frustrated that all the apartments are too expensive now—like, regular people can't even live in their own towns. Plus, the beaches and parks get super crowded, and stuff like water and public transport can't keep up.

Even some tourists said they felt uncomfortable because of the protests, but it's not actually about hating travelers. It's the whole non-stop tourist thing making it tough for people to afford living there and enjoy their hometown. So yeah, I get their anger, even though tourism helps in some ways. Too much of it just takes over everything else.
