I've honestly wondered the same thing! I watched the BET Awards 2025 and yeah, a lot of artists were talking about unity—Doechii was super bold with her speech about supporting all kinds of people, not just Black folks but also Latinos, trans people, and those in Gaza. That made it feel way more real to me. But at the same time, a lot of it looked like the usual celebrity stuff: fancy outfits, afterparties, people just doing their own thing for the cameras. I feel like some celebs absolutely mean what they say and use their platform to do good, but others are just kinda there for the publicity. In my opinion, the unity thing is real for the people who genuinely care, but for some, it's just an image. I wish they'd all actually commit to working together outside the awards, not just when the cameras are rolling. Still, it's cool that the awards give these topics a spotlight—even if it does feel kinda fake sometimes. That's just how big events like this go, I guess. What matters is if people really follow through after the speeches!
