That's honestly the big debate! Some people say the emergency rule totally saved Rivers from falling apart. I mean, things were getting nuts with lawmakers switching parties, legal battles, and fights with Fubara's old boss. A few folks supported President Tinubu’s call, saying it calmed things down and avoided more violence.

But then, there are a lot of people who think it was basically just a big power grab by the federal government. They say suspending governor fubara and taking over was like ignoring what the people wanted. It’s kinda scary if you think about it—if the president can just suspend a governor whenever things get messy, what’s stopping him next time? Makes some folks wonder if their votes even count.

In my opinion, it’s probably both—maybe it stopped chaos for now, but it totally raised new questions about democracy and if politicians just use any excuse to control more stuff. If I lived in Rivers, I’d be worried about who’s really in charge of my future.
