Honestly, when TikTok has a down outage, it's usually something to do with their servers messing up or just not handling too many people at once. Sometimes it's a technical problem like a server overload, so the app can't keep up with how many of us are making or watching videos. Other times, it could be TikTok doing updates behind the scenes, and stuff breaks by accident. I've read in news articles and on DownDetector that sometimes over 20,000 people can all notice the outage at the same time, so it must be stressful for the people working there.
Sometimes people think their own phones are bugging out or their internet died, but it's rarely just that. I remember once restarting my phone, WiFi, literally everything, but nope—it was TikTok that was out. They usually don't tell us exactly what happened, but it's almost always tech stuff, not some super shady thing. Stuff happens, even to big apps. It's kinda wild that one glitch can stop millions from watching or sharing videos for hours.
