So, after an arraignment like the Dangote diesel theft case, the accused have a bunch of possible outcomes, depending on what the judge thinks and what proof they show in court. Since all 13 suspects pleaded not guilty, it’ll come down to the trial, which is in July 2025. If they’re found guilty, they could face jail time—especially since the charges involve big crimes like conspiracy and money laundering, not just simple theft.
But honestly, sometimes the courts give people fines instead, or even a mix of both, especially if they can’t prove every single screw-up. In Nigeria, I’ve heard stories of people getting off lighter if they have big connections or if the evidence is shaky, but if the police have solid proof, these guys could be in major trouble. In my opinion, because this case is so public and everyone’s watching, the court might actually go hard to set an example. But until July, everyone’s just guessing. I bet the people involved are super stressed out because the stakes are high on this one!
