Okay, so this cracks me up because it happens every time a new Tyler Perry movie comes out. Critics are like, "Ugh, not another one," but regular people, especially families, are still buying tickets or streaming it on day one. From what I’ve seen and heard from my friends, a lot of fans like Tyler Perry movies because they’re funny, make you feel good, and show real stuff families go through. Madea feels like everyone’s grandma – loud, messy, but still full of love.
Critics, though, they nitpick about the movies being predictable or not looking fancy enough, whatever that means. I think they just see so many movies that they forget normal people just want to laugh or relate to the story. My aunt and I saw Boo! A Madea Halloween, and the theater was packed with families. Everybody was laughing...but then we see bad reviews the next week. It just proves you don’t need every movie to win an award. If people are happy, that's what actually counts.
