If you ask me, Audu was really worried about the idea of Nigeria turning into a one-party state, and he didn't keep his opinions to himself. He basically said it freaked him out to see so many people from other political parties suddenly joining the APC. According to him, that's the kind of thing that makes it feel like only one party matters, and that's kinda scary for any democracy.

Audu even wrote in his resignation letter that he didn't want to be part of anything that could mess up democratic values. He actually used his own job as an example and quit, because he felt like his presence could be seen as support for what was happening. To him, being ethical and standing for democracy was way more important than keeping his fancy position.

I'm kinda impressed that he called out the big alliance between Tinubu and Wike, too. Audu thought it was all about power, and not about improving things for regular people. I think it takes guts to leave a government job for reasons like that, but hey, sometimes your conscience just won't let you stay quiet.
