Okay, so from what I've seen, the party in Florida (yeah, the Republican Party) is super focused on this idea of keeping Florida "the freest state." My friend's parents are always talking about it at our house, and what they mean is mostly about stuff like low taxes, less government, and not letting the federal government tell them what to do. Like, during the pandemic, they made a big deal out of not having lots of lockdown rules compared to other states.
They’re big on electing conservative leaders who will fight the "Left" (which I guess just means people who want things like stricter gun laws or more government programs). Their website also talks a lot about protecting freedom of speech and trying to keep the state run by Republicans. I think it’s kind of a flex—they want to show they’re different from like New York or California.
So, the party is all about keeping things the same and making sure regular people can do what they want, at least according to them. Sometimes it feels like just a slogan, but a lot of adults around here really believe in it.
