Honestly, Knicks playoff tickets are just crazy expensive right now because the team actually made it pretty far and everyone is dying to be there in person. In my experience, whenever the Knicks do well, Madison Square Garden blows up with hype. People want to see the games live, especially since it's against huge teams like the Celtics this year. I've checked Ticketmaster myself, and the cheapest seats are like $600, which is kind of insane for the nosebleeds, but people pay it just because of the energy and chance to witness history.
But is it actually worth it? I guess it depends. If you're a diehard Knicks fan or you've never been to a playoff game, it could be the coolest experience ever. But if you're not loaded with cash, it's definitely hard to justify dropping that much on one ticket. You could watch at home with friends and use all that extra money on pizza and jerseys instead. I've always watched from home, and even though the arena atmosphere looks unreal, it still feels awesome cheering on the team with people around you. My advice: it’s legendary if you can go, but don’t feel left out if you can’t. The TV experience is pretty sick too!
