I find it kinda wild that Chelsea handed Mamadou Sarr an eight-year deal! Like, that's barely even heard of, especially for someone who's only 19 and not even a massive name yet. From a fan's perspective, I think the club is doing this so they can secure hot young talent for cheap, and possibly avoid having to renegotiate for way more money if the dude blows up later. It also lets them spread the cost of the transfer over more years, so it looks better financially (I've seen people on Twitter always ranting about "amortization" and all that).

Honestly, though, I kind of feel for Sarr. Signing that long means he's locked in, and if Chelsea keeps up their habit of loaning players out and treating them like assets, he could end up bouncing around without ever really getting a shot. I remember what happened to other young guys like Ethan Ampadu—they just kinda disappeared for a while. But hey, maybe Sarr breaks the cycle, takes his chance, and becomes a Chelsea legend. I hope it works out for him and he actually gets to play! Who knows, right?!
