Honestly, it's wild to think about how a big escape like the new orleans jail escape happened right under everyone's nose. From what I've seen, it looks like defective locks had a huge part in it. And get this – the escape apparently went down at like 1:01 a.m. when most people would be tired or not paying full attention. Also, some reports are saying there might've even been inside help, which just blows my mind. I always thought jails were locked down tight, but I guess things slip through the cracks, especially when the tech is old or people aren't really doing their jobs.
I remember seeing on the news that three employees actually got suspended after it happened, which makes you wonder if they were slacking or maybe even helping the inmates. It shows that even a place that's supposed to be super secure can have huge flaws if no one’s keeping an eye on things or if the equipment's busted. Makes me question how often stuff like this really goes on that we just don't hear about until it's this dramatic. This escape is a pretty big wake up call for security in government-run places if you ask me.
