From what I've seen, everyone is completely glued to champions league table updates, even when it's not their team playing. I think it's partly about bragging rights, but mostly, it's just fun seeing where every team stands and imagining all the possible matchups for the next round. I remember last season, my group chat blew up whenever someone moved up or down the table, especially if it was unexpected.
Checking the table just gives you that instant snapshot of who's in, who's out, and who's on the edge. For a lot of fans, it's almost like a game on its own to predict who gets through. The table updates give everyone something to talk about—it's like, even if my team got knocked out (sadly), I still wanna know who might be next. In my experience, half the fun of champions league is watching all the surprises play out on the table. So yeah, even if your team isn't playing, obsessing over the table is just what we do!
