Honestly, what jumps out about Sirens on Netflix is just how much it leans into the weird vibes of privilege and power trips, way more than the usual dark comedies you see. I've watched a bunch of shows that try to mix rich people and dark humor, but Sirens does it in this super uncomfortable way on purpose. The setting (that creepy-perfect private island) and those swoopy, dramatic shots totally remind me of Big Little Lies, but it’s way more exaggerated, almost like the rich people are their own species or something.
The episodes mostly take place over one nuts weekend, which keeps the story fast and intense. Plus, the set design is wild—everything’s super fancy but kind of cold, almost like a cult. I think that anchor outside the mansion is a wild detail, too. It’s not just window dressing, it actually means something about old money and being stuck in messed up family traditions. Plus, the way they show women clashing over power and control feels so real and not sugarcoated at all. For me, it’s a lot more raw and awkward than glamorous, which definitely makes it stand out from the rest. Definitely check it out if you want something messier and realer than most shows about rich people.
